One Mom's journey to raise empowered mixed-race children

When it rains, it pours..

Yes, it’s true, I am just now getting into the shower.  That’s right.  It’s 1:07 in the afternoon, I’ve had 20 cups of coffee, no lunch and still need to use the bathroom [you know which version, it’s not #1].

Crazy Baby, MJSo, here’s what you can expect whenever you need to get something done [I was supposed to finish painting the master bathroom on the baby’s first nap today.  I’m so close to being done!].

You can expect your baby to not sleep all night long [ok, she slept till 2:30], in turn…causing everyone to be late for work and school in the morning.  You can expect her to finally fall asleep at 6, just to wake at 8:30 and have more energy in her pinky toe than I have in my entire body.  You can expect her to not nap for 5 hours, even though she’s done 143 laps around the coffee table and 69 around the kitchen island.  And, you can expect her to want to play outside, because she’s only 1 and doesn’t give a flying flip about the rain!

Anyway…baby is FINALLY asleep, I’m off to shower and smiling because I see a peep of sunshine and because I finally get to use the bathroom [alone].
